Grupo HwIT was founded with the purpose of bringing together Brazil's best expertise in an engineering team with 20+ years of experience building the state-of-the-art in high-complexity products, such as coherent photonics, high-speed ASICs, embedded systems, and complex electronic products.
We are the company that developed an ASIC in 6nm FinFET for coherent communications, that produced 1,500+ lasers in its pilot plant, and that built 9.4 Megapixel X-ray detectors for synchrotron particle accelerators. Today, we offer these capabilities to clients who need the best in hardware — in Brazil and worldwide.
20+ years of history
Before HwIT was formally established, the team was already building state-of-the-art photonics and ASICs — at CPQD, BrPhotonics, IPG Photonics, and Lumentum.
Development of EDFA amplifiers (10+ models), ROADMs 2–9 degrees, hybrid Raman/EDFA amplifiers for optical transport networks in Brazil.
TOSA R&D, Silicon Photonics, 100G Orion ASIC (28nm), Pitec X-ray detectors — first high-tech products developed as a deep-tech startup.
Dual Nano Laser (nITLA), 400G ASIC in 7nm and 6nm FinFET (TSMC), TROSA — development and production of world-class photonic products at volume.
CFP2-DCO BiDi (SiPh + ITLA + DSP + EDFA integrated), PIMEGA 450D, 400G low power ASIC — working at a Nasdaq company with US$1.5B revenue.
